Many popular outdoor brands have offices within the U.S., but where is their actual product made?
Pull back the tags on your outdoor items and most of them, maybe NONE of them will be made in the U.S.A.
Some companies try to promote “designed in the U.S.A.” or something similar, but they are rarely manufactured in the U.S.A.
Where are Springbar Tents Made?
The Springbar line of tents is made in the U.S.A. in a small manufacturing plant in Salt Lake City, Utah. They started manufacturing in 1961. They are one of the best canvas tents to buy.
I’ve actually been there when I picked up my tent. Here’s the inside of my current Springbar (link to my full review).
Springbar also imports a few canvas tents models. They make it very clear on their website which tents are U.S. made vs imported.
Local Factory Seconds
If you live in Salt Lake City or nearby, you can actually buy “factory seconds” and pick them up at Springbar’s facility.
The factory seconds are aesthetic defects such as the logo being sewn a little off-center and other minor issues. As a result, you don’t get a huge discount, but it’s the only way you could get one during COVID.
I’ve been there twice and talked to various people and they are all very outgoing and nice! They do customer pickups and customer service out of the same location.
This is an example of my current tent (the previous one was sewn more on the corner.
